Frequently asked questions
How do I resize an image to an exact width and height in pixels?
Drop your image into PixelKit, click "Scale & Resize" on the file card, and enter your target width and height in pixels (e.g. 1920 × 1080 for Full HD, or 413 × 531 for Passport ID). PixelKit re-renders the image locally using the Canvas API.
How can I scale an image resolution by percentage (e.g., 50% or 75%)?
In the Resize Studio, click the percentage buttons (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%) or adjust the slider. The aspect ratio is locked automatically to maintain proportional scaling without distortion.
What is the standard passport size photo in pixels?
For online portals, the standard passport photo dimension is 413 × 531 pixels (3.5 × 4.5 cm at 300 DPI) or 600 × 600 pixels (2 × 2 inches for US Visa). PixelKit has pre-configured 1-click presets for both.
Will resizing my image degrade its quality or blur it?
PixelKit uses bicubic image interpolation in browser memory. By default, the "Do not upscale" option is enabled to prevent pixelation if the original image is smaller than the target dimension.
Are my images uploaded to any server when resizing?
No. PixelKit executes 100% inside your browser using client-side Web Workers and HTML5 Canvas. Your files never touch external servers or cloud storage.
